FAQ’s & Your First Lesson

  • For insurance purposes, riders must wear a riding helmet that meets the PAS 015:2011 with BSI Kitemark or Inspec IC Mark, VG 01.040 2014-12 with BSI Kitemark or Inspec IC Mark or ASTM F1163:2015 with the SEI mark. It is the rider’s responsibility to ensure that their own helmet complies, has been appropriately fitted by a qualified fitter and is replaced at necessary intervals. We have a small range of helmets available for use that meet the above standards, however instructors are not qualified to fit them and borrowing one of these helmets is at your own liability.
  • Please wear a long sleeved top, long, elasticated trousers without a seam (leggings are good, jeans are not so good). Dress for the weather and make sure you are warm enough, you can take layers off but you can’t put them on if you don’t have them! Gloves should be worn, a comfortable pair with some stretch are great. Please note that we cannot let you ride in shorts or crop tops and we recommend that you do not wear jewellery as it can be easily caught up, broken or even more importantly cause you an injury.

  • Smooth soled shoes with a small heel are essential. We have a small selection available for use if you do not have anything suitable. Wellies, trainers or any boot with excessive tread are not suitable.

  • Sadly we are unable to teach children under the age of 6 and any person over the weight of 11 stone.

  • Please note that when booking your first, or a one-off lesson or hack we would appreciate payment at the time of booking to secure your session. Should you need to cancel your booking, the lesson fee is refundable where a minimum of 48 hours notice is given.
